From his studio in Bugthorpe, Andrian Melka carves beautiful classical sculptures for clients around the globe.  Recent pieces have found homes in Palm Beach and in the garden at Highgrove.  Current work includes Bacchus (pictured) for an American client.

Andrian established his studio in 2003, after having worked for a number of years with Dick Reid at his workshop in York as Head Carver.  Before joining Dick and his team Andrian studied sculpture from the age of 14, graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, Albania in 1994.  He then enjoyed a year at the Building Crafts College in London, where he earned the Freedom of the Carpenters Company and the City of London in recognised of his skills.

Previous projects have included figures of Christ and Madonna for St Mungo's Church, Glasgow, and work commissioned for the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations, including the fountain at Sandringham and the coat of arms in the statue in Windsor Great Park.  Andrian is also involved in the restoration of Selby Abbey and has produced a large number of pieces including figures and capitals.

The studio specialises in both classical and contemporary sculpture, and also in architectural carvings.
