Don Barker is a Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths.  In 2003 he was elevated to the Court of Assistants, and is proud to be the first working blacksmith to serve on the Court for over two hundred years.

His thirty years as a working blacksmith was preceded by a formal engineering apprenticeship.  Many of his ancestors were blacksmiths and Don says that it is 'in his blood'.

His experience and knowledge allows him to offer his clients a unique, bespoke service in the design and development of customers' ideas and professional advice on methods and materials.  Don has completed commissions for most of Britain's leading churches and cathedrals and many stately homes, monuments and palaces.
