Houghtons of York are a well-established family run business with a wealth of experience, employing highly skilled craftsmen who use traditional methods and materials to produce a broad range of quality bespoke commissioned work.

We have been involved in the conservation, restoration and reordering of ecclesiastical, historical listed buildings and private dwellings throughout the United Kingdom.

Our works have included: staircases, windows, doors, finely carved wood, reproduction furniture, wall panelling, reredos screens, timber framed buildings, kingpost roof trusses, access ramps, kitchen furniture, organ cases, lecterns, display stands, altar tables, candlesticks, timber bridges and complete building extensions.

Our Architectural joiners and wood carvers complimented by bricklayers and associated craftsmen mean that we are able to offer a comprehensive supply and installation service, and together with other specialists to undertake a large variety of projects.
