Tamara has worked as a gilder since 1992, training first with Cooke Antiques of Dublin, and subsequently working freelance with various other antique dealers in the Dublin and Cork areas.  Her most notable client was Peter Coyle, the renowned Irish art and picture dealer.

Since moving to York in 2002 she has worked from Dick Reid's stone and carving workshop, her most recent and noteworthy work being to repair and regild (oil and water) two large overmantels for the York Conservation Trust at the York Assembly Rooms.  She is also doing work for a locally-based firm with an international specialism in the repair and restoration of historic fairground organs.

An important part of Tamara's craftsmanship is the attention she gives to perfect detail in her repair work and to the antiquing/distressing of gold-leaf.  All her materials are made the traditional way.
