- Conservation and Restoration of Easel Paintings
The studio specialises in the conservation and restoration of easel paintings from all periods, to museum standards. In addition to working in the studio, we also work on site, carry out surveys of collections and give advice on the conservation of paintings. Work is documented with condition and treatment reports, and a full photographic record.
The studio can accommodate large paintings, and is well equipped with good security. All conservators working at the studio are professionally trained and qualified. Lucy Critchlow (ACR) and Eeva Kukkonen who jointly run the studio, have worked in various private studios, museums and galleries around the UK, before moving to Sheffield. The studio is listed on the Conservation Register. Clients include local authorities, universities, historic houses, The National Trust and private owners.
