- Furniture, Woodturning, Joinery
From a workshop in the North York Moors National Park, Marcus Jacka undertakes commissions for furniture, architectural woodturning, and challenging joinery. His style is individual and reductionist in its approach to design, often leading to a spare lightness in the finished pieces.
His aim is always to create things that are distinctive, beautiful and thought-provoking. This is helped by a keen understanding of his materials – everything works, nothing is wasted or superfluous.
Commissions have ranged in scale from staircases and large turned columns, to the smallest domestic ware. Marcus’s deep sympathy for traditional joinery is combined with bold inventiveness, so that your ideas, and his, come to spectacular fruition.
