- Conservation of Historic Stone Structures
- Stone carving
We primarily act as Main Contractor for the conservation and repair of historic stone structures, both locally and nationwide. We adhere to rigid conservation principles in that the materials used are sensitive to the existing fabric, traditional and reversible- following strict guidelines and specifications which reflect current conservation methodology and practice.
We only use lime-based mortars in our work- as such we have a broad understanding of the use and application of lime mortars, shelter-coats, hot lime mixes and nano-lime. We have an in-house team of carvers, masons and conservators who have extensive experience with the conservation, repair and replication of decorative detail and with the setting-out and production of complex masonry such as tracery windows.
We also undertake bespoke stone carving, woodcarving and letter- cutting commissions for both ecclesiastical and secular clients.
