York Glaziers Trust is the oldest and largest specialist stained glass conservation studio in Britain. We are a charitable trust dedicated to the care and conservation of historic stained glass in York Minster and throughout the UK. The YGT was formed almost 50 years ago, building on centuries of craftsmanship associated with York Minster, Britain’s treasure-house of stained glass.
Based in a workshop in the city centre, the Trust offers a wide-ranging service including conservation, repair and protection of stained glass of all periods. Our customers are owners and custodians of stained glass in historic buildings from great Cathedrals to the smallest of parish churches, from collections found in museums and art galleries to private homes.
In collaboration with artists and clients we undertake design and fabrication of new plain glazing and painted windows. Our staff, led by three ICON accredited conservators, can offer unparalleled advisory services.
