In place | On the road: Experiences and challenges from the Greek territory

The YCCC will be joined by BOULOUKI, an interdisciplinary research collaborative, whose work is focused on the study of traditional building techniques and materials.

The talk focuses on diverse projects on heritage restoration and training implemented by the team in mountainous and insular communities of Greece while highlighting specific challenges faced, such as the integration of traditional building techniques into sustainable contemporary architectural practices, the  use of local materials, the vocational training opportunities on heritage building skills and the role of communities’ engagement.
